Over the last few days life has turned topsy-turvy for millions across the country. While the lock-down has been particularly harsh, caused unspeakable misery to the poor daily wage-earners who lost their livelihood, it has thrown a different challenge to the Indian middle class. How to cope up in the absence of the domestic help is a major issue.
Some joys cannot be felt digitally
The onslaught of corona virus and the resultant lockdown turned life topsy-turvy. The supply of essentials got disrupted initially, but was restored within a couple of days. However, newspaper remained an issue for quite some time. Holed up in home, what my husband and I started missing the most was the daily newspaper. Our mornings did not remain the same; the morning cup of tea lost its charm.

Even the darkest night will end and the Sun will rise
Half of the world is under lockdown. Ghost towns, deserted streets, closed markets and quiet roads are the new norm. A micro-organism, the novel corona virus, Covid 19 has brought almost the entire world to stand still. Business has come to grinding halt. Global economy is in ICU. One virus has shaken the world bringing the entire world to its knees.

Reflections over vendors’ eviction
I was in for a pleasant surprise when I visited Sector 17 Shopping Plaza a couple of weeks ago- all spruced up, free of the clutter created by the vendors who had virtually seized the entire area around the fountain, pavements and also the corridors in front of the showrooms.
